Tucked away at the foot of the Clinch Mountains in the small town of Mooresburg, TN — a community of just 903 — Green Tomato Grill is a labor of love from Brett and Tammy Hadley (pictured front and center). What started with a chance discovery of an empty, shuttered restaurant turned into something special: the couple saw potential where others saw vacancy, invested in the building, painted it their signature green tomato green, and built a menu that celebrates the humble green tomato in creative ways.
Brett brings over 40 years of restaurant experience to the table, along with formal training from the Highpark Culinary Institute of America in New York. His expertise is the driving force behind a scratch-made menu loaded with generous portions — from hearty appetizers and hand-crafted sandwiches to country-style entrées and their beloved steak and ribs.
Don’t let the small-town setting fool you. Green Tomato Grill has built a loyal following of over 15,000+ on social media, over 2,000+ Google reviews, drawing road trippers and out-of-state visitors alongside the locals. A wait for a table is common — and well worth it.
Brett and Tammy have run The Green Tomato together for over 14 years. Married for 26 years and parents to six children, this truly is a family restaurant — on most days, you’ll find a Hadley or two right there with you.
